Antonio has done various independent projects and has appeared on various networks such as WGN, NBC and PBS stations. His latest documentary titled Chicago’s Puerto Rican Story, which aired on PBS in 2008, is currently being used to supplement Latino/Ethnic studies programs at some of the top universities across the country including Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, and Rutgers's University. He has traveled extensively throughout the country lecturing at numerous universities across the U.S. on various topics of independent filmmaking and minorities in films.

Antonio is an award winning film producer, writer and director with more than 25 years of experience in all forms of media. An independent artist and producer, he is adept at achieving a balance between artistic vision and effective programming. He has established relationships within the corporate and nonprofit community and demonstrates a concern for people and the ability to inspire others through the projects he creates.
Antonio’s extensive knowledge and experience in every aspect of film and television has allowed him to produce long-form, fiction, and non-fiction films and television programs. Antonio has written and directed several independent films including “Urban Poet,” which debuted at the 19th Annual Chicago Latino Film Festival and was praised as “a film to watch” by Pulitzer
while at Helix LTD Motion Picture Productions. He also apprenticed and studied theatre production at the Riley Theater in Chicago.
Antonio has received numerous awards for his distinguished work. He is the recipient of a C.A.N Film Award. In 2008, Antonio was awarded the P.R.C.C.L. Person of the Year Award as well as the 2008 Paseo Boricua’s Ambassador of the Year Award. In 2011, he was recognized and awarded with a Creative Movement Award for his work and commitment to social justice.
Antonio is the founder of New Film Production, a film and television production company located in Chicago. He is currently producing a documentary titled Second Chance Kids, which explores the dropout crisis in America.
